It is with great pleasure to announce that we’ve just successfully launched SAO’s first AMA on Discord!

On Oct. 20th, Hedra Labs, core developer team of SAO Network, has invited @leoren.eth to share the story of @Storverse(developed by SAO Network) winning Fil-Toronto Data DAO Hackathon in SAO community. We had a great time exploring Web3 storage and Storverse. We’d like to appreciate Leo and our community members for joining us although we were not able to answer all the questions due to limited time.

Let’s go through the recap of our first AMA.

Host: We’re so honored to have successfully invited Leo as our AMA guest. Leo is the core developer of Storverse, which has just won the first prize in the Toronto Hackathon co-hosted by Filecoin Foundation and Filswan. How about saying hi and introducing yourself and the team a little bit, Leo?

Leo: I am Leo, one of the core developers of Storverse which is built on top of SAO Network. Our team, Hedra Labs, has focused on Web3 storage for a long time. We are finding a better storage solution and developing a storage platform to facilitate Web3 ecosystem applications.

Host: Thank you Leo. I’ve been curious about Web3 storage, like how content can be split or how storage platforms are dealing with data privacy. So how Storverse works to support Web3 storage?

Leo: Well, basically Storverse acts like a marketplace for publicly free content and paid content. You know, current decentralized storage platforms like Filecoin, IPFS etc. are not user-friendly. Some say they are inefficient and hard to use. What SAO Network wants to fix is providing a system for apps to upload and manage data easily. And Storverse is the first application to hit the spot.

Host: That’s great. Looks like Storverse will be a reliable storage application. Talking about the problems of current Web3 storage, how Storverse gonna do with data privacy?

Leo: Actually Storverse has put much attention on data privacy. We developed an innovative encryption and decryption mechanism to protect data privacy. Owners can set the content they uploadd onto Storverse as “paid content” and get the content encrypted. Except the data owner, no one else shall get access to the data unless authorized by the owner. Others have to pay to access the target content.

Host: Make sense. In that way, we can realize content monetization on Web3 I think. So do you think it’s the encryption that stood Storverse out in the Hackathon?

Leo: Uhm, nothing can be completed by a single force. Encryption is just one of our key technologies. We win the prize with a bunch of key technologies. For example, we also applied Multi-Chain storage and developed Golang MCS SDK to store data on-chain.

Questions From Community

Q1: So this is a common question, can you tell us more about the project’s marketing strategy? Do you have enough funds to do that? Thank you.

A: Self funded at this moment. And we are open to more funds as we continue developing our application/system as well as market promoting.

Q2: Can you share more information on your team?

A: Our core developer team, Hedra Labs, is based in Singapore. We have senior architects as well as industry pioneers from both fin-tech and blockchain fields in our team.

Q3: How can you guys make sure that the uploader is the content owner?

A: To be honest, this is a knotty problem with Web3. Some platforms like OpenSea issued a disclaimer to protect themselves from copyright disputes but that cannot stop copyright infringement. Storverse adopts the compounded multi-dimensional solution provided by SAO Network with a bunch of solutions, like PoE(Proof of Existence), Dispute, and DAO governance to better ensure content ownership.

Q4: Marketing is a central element for every project, so that everyone knows the potential that a project can bring is vital to achieve the goals set. What is your strategy to attract new users and Investor to Your platform and keep them long term ?

A: Firstly, we will launch an early adopter program involving new content creators to upload professional content including academic papers, copyrighted videos, and other valuable public content. Then we’re gonna build a rewarding plan beneficial for content owners and storage providers. Also, customers can sign up for the waitlist and the invitations will be sent to select waitlist members later, who will be among the first to explore the experience. We will continue to gather feedback from community members and partners, which will help shape the future of this platform.

About SAO Network

SAO Network is a secured and decentralized storage infrastructure for Web3. It provides a decentralized storage protocol based on de-storage networks to increase the adoption of Web3 content storage and facilitate its ecosystem applications.

Hedra Labs, the core developer team of SAO Network and Storverse, was established in Singapore in 2021 as a blockchain-focused R&D taskforce teamed by industry pioneers, senior architects and developers from both fin-tech and blockchain fields who are dedicated to the development and evolution of Web3 and decentralized storage networks. Its ultimate goal is to provide a solid and comprehensive storage platform based on SAO Network for Web3 applications and make it secure, easy, and intuitive for users to own and manage data.
